If I choose a best answer a few days after my question, does that answerer get notified, e.g. by e-mail?

Yes, they get a special email message congratulating them on being chosen "best answer" with a link to the question.





Many times, the person chosen as "best answer" uses the link to go back to the question to see if you, the asker, left a comment for them. Because, when you choose the best answer, you get to give them 1 to 5 stars and you can leave a comment, if you choose.
If I choose a best answer a few days after my question, does that answerer get notified, e.g. by e-mail?
If they allow email they do.
Reply:I don't check my e-mail but we do also get notified when I log on to yahoo answers - It says you got 10 points!!!... your answer chosen as best answer...


Then when you go into your best answers you can find out what question you got voted best answer for.
