Check on the company through the Nigerian Embassy http://www.nigerianembassy.org/ In answer to your questions about the geography and economic conditions, check it out in the CIA's World Fact Book http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/fact...

I also have a great deal of skepticism about Nigerian "opportunities" I hope you haven't sent them any money or given them any sensitive information about yourself or family members. Check them out very thouroughly before making any committments. Be especially wary if they ask you for your banking information "for direct deposit of payroll funds or travel expenses."

Illegitimate operators in Nigeria are very good at falsifying ANY document (even passports, letters of credit, birth certificates, bills of lading and customs clearances) Verify everything they tell you, save copies of all correspondence from them (including e-mail header information). Once you catch them in a lie, however small, turn all information over to the FBI and the Nigerian Embassy. You may be the subject of a 419 Scam atempt.

These Nigerian scam operators are very serious criminals. Verify everything! For more information http://home.rica.net/alphae/419coal/
Reply:I would be VERY sceptical about anything having to do with Nigeria. It seems to me that everything having to do with Nigeria is a scam. If you never heard of this so-called company, then how did they get YOUR name and info? Most likely it is a scam, so be wary. If at any point they want personal bank account info or you Social Security number, back off. (Why would a Nigerian company need a US Social Security number??) If they need you to deposit a money order and then send them cash via Westen Union, it is MOST DEFINITELY a scam.

Be VERY cautions or you could get ripped off.
Reply:You have internet connection. You have the resources. Why pose this question here?

1. Ask your employer the same q. They are the best ones to answer this q.

2. Google it, do digging around about Nigeria on the net.

I do not understand this - you sound like an intelligent person. But this basic item escaped you?
