Silence is not golden.how do i get warning sounds to play on xp,e.g.new mail alerts.?

Go into Control panel





Find Sounds and audio. Click on the sounds tab





Scroll down through the list of actions and then browse for the wav you want to play when that action occurs

Depends on the email software you use. For example if you use Yahoo email. then you can download the yahoo messinger and there will be sound alert for incoming email. If you use incredimail, you has sound alert too.
