Any help would be good as i'm doing a sociology exam soon and I have no idea what any of the theories are!

Marx created the idea of communism in his Communist Manifesto.





As far as other sociological perspectives I can only infer from your question that you are referring to classical Sociological theory since you mentioned Marx. Try finding some information online about:

If you want to it quickie style like I'm guessing you do since you asked for help on Answers is stick with the Sociologists I put an * next to. All the major classical sociologists have somewhat of a different sociological perspective.

Reply:there's max Weber who uses interpretive theories, Emile Durkheim - positivist theories, Karl Marx - conflict theories.





in interpretive, every individual has a perceived world, so it states that a person should study each of these perceived worlds in itself.





in positivist, individuals live in a world and therefore it should be studied empirical, deterministic, objective way.





in conflict, a perceived world is ruled by coersion and must be changed.
