When I log into my yahoo mail there is often a name I don't recognise, e.g. welcome 'jerry', not my name !

There are only two people who ever use this home computer, how can this happen ?

Is it actually your ID with this name or another one? If its yours someone has been going on your ID from a computer, not necessarily yours. Try changing your password, and your name of course.





Otherwise, it is probably that somebody who uses your computer has created a fake account and is not closing it down/choosing for it to stay open.





Either that or someone accidentally put "Jerry" instead of their name and now can't change it, does anyone you share with have a similar name to this.





Or has a friend been using it, or a friend of one of the two people?








If you are positive that it's none of the above then it must be a problem with Yahoo! or someone hacking into your computer. Check for viruses and if it still does it then complain to Yahoo!
Reply:I get it aswel, it's not a virus or anything my system s clean, I think it might be something to do with the IP address, say for example your on NTL the persons name you see is probably with them aswel, so it would be our providers fault, nothing happens anyway I clicked on the email of someone else and it would go in, so they'll not be able to get into ours either...





It is annoying though...

Reply:No prob with Yahoo.....suggest you run up to date Anti Virus scan .....looks like you have a Trojan.....and also run spybot or simalar just in case (could be a case of someone using your computer as a zombie)
Reply:Well if the name you see when you goto yahoo, is the same name of the other person who uses that computer, I'd have thought the answer was simple. If you know it's not the other person, then I can't help.
