Hi! I just got a G-mail, but I don't know how to start chat. I already have one contact, but not a chat contact. I'd like some help please!

I have a G-mail question...?
You don't need to add a chat contact. All you have to do is add the address of the person you want to talk to, and then go to the chat tab on the left hand side (below the "Inbox" "Trash" area). If the person is on Gmail right now, the light next to his/her name will light up and you can click on it to start the conversation.
