How can we get rid of the clicking sound when we click on the screen to perform a task e.g. retrieve a mail?
If you’re using Yahoo! Mail Beta on Internet Explorer, those clicks you’re hearing are handy indicator sounds Explorer provides to tell you each time a server’s being contacted for something. And you can turn them off.
1. From the “Start” pop-up menu on your desktop, select your computer’s “Control Panel.”
2. From this list, pick “Sounds and Audio Devices” (for Windows XP) or “Sounds and Multimedia Properties” (for Windows 2000). A dialog window opens.
3. From the tabs across the top, pick “Sounds.”
4. Scroll down and you’ll find a category called “Windows Explorer.” The last item under this heading is “Start Navigation.” Click this to highlight it.
5. In the box just below this, called “Sounds,” open the pop-up menu and scroll to the top to choose (None).

You sure can, as long as the provider uses POP—and most do. This means that with Yahoo! Mail, you can retrieve messages from most external email accounts. And with Yahoo! Mail Plus, you can also send from Yahoo! Mail, so an email will appear to be from your other account. It's a convenient way to do all your emailing from one place.
To complete the process, you'll need to find out the mail server name for each account you wish to add. Why am I rec'g e-mail with just the headers and no text ?
I get the TO and FROM etc; subject line, but there is no message, either on reg e-mail or on bulk...no one else on yahoo in our house can retrieve e-mail either...why and how does a near computer illiterate fix it?

Are we allowed to send small things (e.g. pens) through mail?
By regulation of the US Postal Service...
I want to send a pen to my friend. It would be inserted into the envelope along with my letter. Would it cost more or would putting the standard $0.41 stamp on it be ok.
Also, if the envelope is a certain size, do I have to pay more too? Like, those yellow envelopes that can fit a regular 8.5 x 11 sized paper without you needing to fold it up. Thanks!

I am looking for a email client or a software (like Mailwasher Pro) which can download emails from your service provider (for ex. gmail) and then allows the user to bounce few messages/mails - those are already been received to your inbox. I DO NOT want to set any filters. I just looking for a client/software that allows me to bounce mails at my will (not automated), Its not a hard bounce. I only just want the sender to think (or discourage) that the email account does not exist, with a standard reply gmail would give for any email send to a non-existing account.

Any further return will be taken as a reply and in effect confirms the existence of the address. You obviously have no real idea of how mail servers work.

Alternatively, i use a website called get drop box (see link below). It creates a folder in your "My Documents", that when you drag a file into it and change, it updates to a website.

I have a G**gle mail account.
I sent a message to 18 people on my list.
My inbox is showing all the replies as one conversation.
I want to put just one of the replies into "spam" but when I try, all of the replies go into "spam"
I am having no luck with "Help" as every time I click on a link there, my browser shuts down.
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Or am I just stuck with G**gle mail working like this?

I am looking for a email client or a software (like Mailwasher Pro) which can download emails from your service provider (for ex. gmail) and then allows the user to bounce few messages/mails - those are already been received to your inbox. I DO NOT want to set any filters. I just looking for a client/software that allows me to bounce mails at my will (not automated), Its not a hard bounce. I only just want the sender to think (or discourage) that the email account does not exist, with a standard reply gmail would give for any email send to a non-existing account.
Is any body familiar with such a software/client/application? I really do appreciate your help and time taken to address this question. Thank you again in advance.

Why wont my PC let me access google or g-mail, or my childrens school web site all of the sudden.?
It takes about 2 minutes for the page to load only to tell me that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have done a disk defragmentation, and disk clean up. I have also cleared my history, and shut down the PC overnight, and restarted. I don't know what else to do. One day it worked fine, the next day, Nothing. I have called the school, and they say everything is fine on there end, and there have been NO other complaints of this problem. UUgghh. Please help.

Now .....if you can't access any websites then it's your internet connection. Chances are your service has been disconnected or if you are using a cable modem then you may need to unplug your modem and restart your computer then plug your modem back in.
If you are using a router between your computer and modem then plug your computer straight to the modem and repeat the above step.
These are the only things that I could think of to be your problem.

I've had my yahoo, hotmail, and g-mail account hacked into before. When I researched this online, I found a lot of sites claiming to send an e-mail to a yahoo mail server in a specific format and it will automatically send you your password. This does not work as I have tried it to get back into an account I have. Of course I can't remember the info because after my account was hacked, I spoofed my personal information therefore hindering myself. I'd reallt like to get back in it as it was one of the original accounts I've had since I began regularly using the internet in the late 90's.

Realistically, the only way someone will 'hack' your account now days, is by guessing your password, guessing your secret question (ie mother's maiden name) - or by phishing.
Phishing is a process where by someone will trick you into giving your password, IE sending an email claiming to be from hotmail staff, asking for your password.
Please remember people can EASILY send fake email.
If I wanted to send you an email from 'support@hotmail.com', I could - it's easy. Remember never ever to give your password away no matter the situation.

I was asked at one point if I wanted to be asked for my password at every session. I clicked yes but I didn't realize that it would be Every time I go to it as I work on my computer. It drives me crazy. I write a comment somewhere, want to store it in my gmail account continuously and am bothered all day long.

Basically im trying to use a program that will automatically send e-mails to me throughout the day. It says i need a smtp server e-mail and so i made a g-mail account with advice from others. I cannot get the program to work however, maybe you offer some advice?

I have a new pc with VISTA Ultimate. Now it is a big problem to type an e-mail? No problem with g-mail.Help!?
I have been using yahoo for a couple of years now

however, since last week I have a new notebook with VISTA Ultimate.
since then I have a lot of problems with typing an e-mail in yahoo.

Yahoo mail is experiencing a glitch. I haven't found a fix for it yet. In the mean-time inform Yahoo! of the problem: http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/mail/c...
For the ones that can't get in at all , try this and see if it works. It seems to be working for a few.
Go to the main yahoo page and sign-in. Then you will see mail in the top right hand side. Hover over it and it should show the mail in your mailbox. Click on one of the e-mails and it opens to that email. Then to go to the main inbox and click on inbox. You still can't send or reply. But at least you can view your e-mails.
I hope this helps you until Yahoo can fix the problem.

still, both google and yahoo have some extras i don't need. google, however, had that nice book and scholarly paper search, which really comes in handy. it also has google earth, which is somewhat entertaining to use. i also use its search engine more than i use yahoo's.
nonetheless, yahoo has a few nice extras, such as yahoo answers, which is entertaining. ultimately, however, i think google is better than yahoo because it is better for my demands and seems more efficient. (please don't ban me.) the hero strikes again!

I am failing to open any web link from my yahoo messanger (e.g yahoo mail, yahoo help,..). Can someone assist?

Why pay for Yahoo Mail Plus, when G-mail is Free?
I just realized I pay 20 USD pr. year for Yahoo Mail Plus.
2 years back, I remember I chose to pay, because I wanted Outlook as my e-mail client. I still use Outlook. And it all works well.
However, a friend of mine just told me paying for this is silly, as you can use e.g. g-mail for free (and also use Outlook etc).
Any comments? Any use of continue to pay for Yahoo Plus?

....I'm easily impressed- can't you tell ? I guess the $ 20 is worth it to me to keep all the advertisements at bay as well...it's only 38 cents a week when you break it down....goodness, I prolly loose more than that in change when I sit down somewhere.
Anyway, yeah, I like all the little "perks" that it offers- even if they are rather useless when you think about it- but 20 bucks ain't that big of a deal. I don't really spend any other money on internet sites, so just this one isn't so bad.

When browsing orkut, right click on the umbrella icon in the task bar(bottom left) and then click on webguard. This will turn it off and u shud be able to browse.

Recently I've been getting a lot of spammy and junk e-mails on my G-Mail account which also happens to be my default e-mail provider, I have tried creating several filters %26amp; marking them as spam. Nothing works.
Now the details:

There's really nothing much you can do about these spam emails.
If you open these emails up, you may notice a "unsubscribe" button. Sometimes these work, but most of the times replying to unsubscribe will just let those spammers know that there is someone on the receiving end! Most often than not, the spam emails you increase.
Since the email sender differs everytime, there is no way you can block them too.
Simply mark them as spam everytime for a few weeks at least, this will train Google's spam recognition.
I suggest you stop posting your email address on the internet publicly if you are, because spam bots are everywhere to harbest them. Also, you may wish to set up different accounts for different purposes.
I don't think anyone will misunderstand, as EVERYONE get these spam mails at one point or another.

How to compose a G-mail email in tamil and english language in the same mail?
I am not able to compose a mail with Tamil and English language in the same mail. For this, I have to go to Google Indic Transliteration website and type the contents to be changed in Tamil and then copy and paste them into my gmail compose box.
Like in Rediff compose mail, they have switching option to write the mail in different languages (whenever required, you can change the language in the same compose mail box). How can I access the same through Gmail?

Mac E-mail: Automatically Deleting E-mails from G-Mail server?
I just started using my new MacBook and I'm a real noob, so I'm having some issues. I want the Mail program on the Mac to check my G-mail, and if I delete an e-mail on my Mac, I want it to delete on the G-mail server. I have the "Remove a copy from server after retrieving message" set to "When message is removed from inbox". However, when I delete messages in my mac e-mail, they remain on the G-mail server. I even make sure my Trash bin is empty on my Mac. Can anyone help?

I'm trying to send an email to friends about a music show I have, but for the sake of their privacy I don't want everyone to be able to see everyone else's e-mails. How would I do this? I tried using Bcc with my own 2 accounts but both of the emails still showed up when the emails were received.

It's almost three thirty in the afternoon here, and I'm still unable to get my mail, which of course, it's annoying. i use HTML view when i open my GMAIL acct. (if i use standard view i cannot see my contact list!?) once i am in contacts..i cannot EDIT anything, delete a contact etc.

U might have received invitaion in another mail ID. So u need to register %26amp; get ur profile created in Orkut. U can loginto Orkut with same user ID as Gmail.

The Gmail interface is obnoxious. They've innovated a new system of "tagging" email, but it's little more than technology for the sake of technology. I can't think of a single use fot their tagging feature.
As for Hotmail, you have to log in once every 90 days or they delete your account, and the interface is pretty elementary...not to mention a Hotmail address looks pretty crappy, especially since almost all decent names have been taken. People often set their spam filters to delete Hotmail mail automatically, since it's an easy, anonomous account to get and a lot of spam merchants use it.
I've been a Yahoo Mail Plus subscriber for almost a year, and I can't say enough good things about it. You can import mail from other providers (such as your ISP) to send and recieve from your Yahoo. It also has a built-in RSS news feed that you can customize, and the interface is top notch...superior to Outlook, or any other online email service I've ever used.
The free Yahoo email is definately top notch as well, but doesn't allow you to send from other accounts within Yahoo. Spring the $10/yr and go for Mail Plus.

When I try to send an image from Google Earth by "Clicking" on the large "M",it gives me an option of how I would like to send it.So I scroll down to "Use my G-Mail account" and I get a little window where I need to type in the address of who ever I'm sending it to.My Question is this:-"Why the Hell is there not a button in this popup window so you could access your "CONTACTS" or "ADDRESS BOOK" to make life a lot easier.If there is a way please feel free to E-mail me at:

In G-Mail, how do you invite a friend to join G-Mail? I just switched to it from Yahoo! Mail and I am kindof lost. It is way different than what I am used to. I really like it though. It will just take some getting used to.
ALSO: when you highlight the text, color the text, or put a link in the text, how do you end the text feature? Simply clicking to undo the feature does not work. The feature is still applied to all of the following text.

If you have invites, there's a small blue box on your screen that says "Invite Friends". If you don't have the box, you cannot invite yet. You may get invites later.
As for the linking/text colour, try typing the entire text before applying link. Changing the colour back to black, just select black.

And I think they added fancy text editing after I suggested it, but that will never be known.

You don't need to add a chat contact. All you have to do is add the address of the person you want to talk to, and then go to the chat tab on the left hand side (below the "Inbox" "Trash" area). If the person is on Gmail right now, the light next to his/her name will light up and you can click on it to start the conversation.

I got an invitation from a firend and everyone was so jelous. I though it was completely stupid. I've never used my gmail once, it's format was just not what I was use to and I have Yahoo set as my home anyway, so I didn't want to change it to google. The only reason people wanted Gmail was cause it had unlimited space, which we now have with yahoo mail.

Its a joke addon for google mail to stop you sending drunk emails
To turn it off look at the top of the screen there will be a little green Symbol Near the logout button. Click this it will take you to gmail labs where you can turn experimental addons on and off.
