You don't need an invite. Simply go to google and open an account. That's what I did.
Reply:go to google and you create it yourself..I dont think you have to be invited.

Reply:I smell a con of some kind. ANYONE can get G-mail WITHOUT an Invitation. And if you have been trying to get G-Mail ever since it started - you would have had an account by now.
The only exception would be if your ISP ident has been flagged (on you) and banned due to misuse of the Internet in one way or another.
